Approach
My mission is to give customers the words they want without burdening them with stuff they don’t.
Principles
-
Brevity
Keep it short. Don’t waste words.
-
Clarity
Keep it clear. The best language says what it means. Jargon belongs in the bin.
-
Necessity
Keep it needed. Customers get what they want, not piles of reports and waste paper nobody reads.
-
Creativity
Keep it new. Cliche and ‘that’s how we’ve always done it’ thinking don’t belong here.
Communication shouldn’t be complicated. The best of it is brief, clear, necessary, and creative.
I founded Alan Grant Communications on these principles - they run through everything I do. I believe in them so much, I put my name on the door.
Too often, clients and customers are bombarded with pages of pitch documents, huge research papers, and media tools that run into thousands of words.
Here’s the secret - you don’t need any of it and should not pay for it. You should pay for what you need and for what works. I’m here to give you the words you need to get your point across, have people listen to your story, or take your side on a controversial issue.
It’s as simple as that.
I do this in three different ways. You can pick from my Writing Room services and create a bespoke approach that works for you. Once we’re done, I’ll send you a bill and you can come back to me when you need anything else. This option is best if you’re running a specific campaign or have a story you want to tell.
Or, you can hire my Press Office for however many days a month you need. This allows you to have a highly experienced press officer on hand to promote your interests and handle your reactive comms. This could be for a fixed period or on a rolling basis, it’s up to you.
I’m also a political campaigns and public affairs expert. From a secretary of state to your community councillor, I can find out who they are and advise you on getting them to listen to you. With my extensive experience in Westminster, Whitehall, Holyrood, and across local government, your cause is in good hands.
If you find comfort in lengthy meetings, pre-meetings, pre-pre-meetings, and pre-pre-pre-meetings, then I’m sure someone can help but it’s not me. If you find quantity more impressive than quality, there are others out there. If you’d rather sit around talking than get the job done - I’m not your guy.
But if brevity, clarity, necessity, and creativity are your jam… then I could be your guy. Please do get in touch, let’s chat.
That’s it. And it only took 345 words. And that’s all it should.
